Choir 2015 dinner 100

On 15 July the choir members and WAGs celebrated the third annual dinner at The King’s Croft hotel in Pontefract. After a delicious meal entertainment was provided by Adam Smith, a brilliant soloist who was on the bill at the Bradford concert earlier in the year. It was a great chance for the choir to relax and prepare for the summer break after a hectic 6 months, and Chairman David Shaw thanked all the WAGs for allowing the chaps out to rehearsals twice each week!Choir 2015 dinner 086

Rowland the mint man

July 6th, 2015 by Julie Hollings

Rowland Marris has been a member of the choir for almost 3 decades and during that time through his own efforts and generosity he has raised aver two thousand pounds for choir funds.

Each week he greets members as they arrive for rehearsal with his bag of mints which he exchanges for any loose change. Some members arrive at rehearsal with their money in their hands, and many come back for second helpings if they’ve saved a few coins.

Thank you for support Rowland.
